Music Beyond Borders: Eco Del Sur

Location: UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

This show has passed

Eco Del Sur consists of South American artists from Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru who perform ancient Andean music as well as contemporary music from different Latin American regions.

Co-presented by Morris Arts

We are moving today’s Music Beyond Borders: Eco Del Sur performance inside to the United Methodist Church (air conditioned) at the Green due to the inclement weather. The performance will commence at the regular time of 12:30pm.

Background

Eco Del Sur (“Echoes of the South”) performs ancient and contemporary music from multiple Latin American regions. Reflecting Pre-Colombian and Spanish cultures (the huayňo, sanjuanito, carnaval, chacarera, joropo, zamba, and cueca) as well as a blend of African with Pacific and Atlantic Coasts and the Caribbean (the cumbia, porros, guajira, lando, festejo, etc.), Eco De Sur showcases indigenous and modern instruments and has performed at numerous folk festivals, universities and multicultural events throughout the United States.

Mayo Performing Arts Center and Morris Arts team up to present the 9th annual Music Beyond Borders free lunchtime summer world music concert series on the Morristown Green.

Four concerts will take place between June 26 and August 7. Concerts begin at 12:30 and last approximately one hour.

Each Music Beyond Borders concert will feature a performance of world music reflecting the diverse culture and population of the area. Brown bag a meal, stop by while walking your dog and experience a world music celebration while getting to know your neighbors.

In case of rain, concerts will be held indoors at the United Methodist Church located at 50 S Park Pl, Morristown, NJ 07960.
