Mayo Performing Arts Center partners with local organizations to provide arts and education-related activities to enhance the local community. Students ranging from pre-school to elementary school learn skills such as stage, acting, and singing basics and work towards an end of semester performance for friends and families. Specialty workshops, resources and discounted or free tickets are made available to these local organizations when applicable.
Students from grades K-2 at The Neighborhood House in Morristown, NJ are participating in a 10 week musical theatre running from February-April 2022. Students have been working on musical theatre skills: singing, dancing, and acting and are working on their own version of “The Jungle Book” which will be performed during the final class.
MPAC has been working with pre-school students from Children on the Green in Morristown for the past ten years. Students participate in a yearly class working on skills in music, movement, and acting. Weekly and seasonal themes and props help enhance this movement and music class. Students participate in a final performance for parents.
Students from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Paterson and Passaic took part in 12 weeks of musical theatre classes during summer 2017. Students worked on musical theatre skills: singing, dancing, and acting and a rock-n-roll theme. They sang songs from “Hairspray” and “Grease” during a final performance.
