Established in 1973, The Israel Symphony Orchestra of Beersheva’s concert series are performed in Beersheva and throughout Israel. On top of performing in all of the main concert halls of Israel, it has progressed from its provincial beginning to become an artistic body with an international reputation. Hundreds of world-class musicians have performed with The Israel Symphony (aka in Israel as The Sinfonietta Beer Sheva) including Leonard Bernstein, Isaac Stern, Pinchas Zukerman, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Shlomo Mintz.

The orchestra has performed at Carnegie Hall (New York), Richardson Hall (Toronto), Festival Hall (London), the Colosseum (Munich) and Gaudi (Barcelona). The orchestra has completed two tours of China, appearing in the Hall of the Forbidden City in Beijing and in other provinces of China and has performed in the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow.

The Israel Symphony Orchestra of Beersheva was the first Israeli Orchestra to ever perform in the Bundestag Building in Berlin and has made numerous recordings and CD’s as well as radio broadcasts under the batons of some of the greatest conductors of the 20th and 21st Centuries.

Nir Kabaretti assumed the position of Music Director of The Israel Symphony of Beersheva at the beginning of the 2018-2019 Concert Season. Described as “a conductor with immense musicality and warm personality” by Zubin Mehta, Italo-Israeli conductor, Nir Kabaretti has earned an impressive reputation across continents for his command of a vast symphonic and operatic repertoire.
