Dancin’ Broadway

This show has passed

Dancin’ Broadway is a high-energy revue of the evolution of stage dance from Agnes DeMille to Gower Champion to Bob Fosse, to today’s current choreographers like Susan Stroman and Andy Blankenbuehler. The show is narrated by “celebrity choreographers” who discuss how Broadway dance has evolved over the years. Six veteran Broadway hoofers perform original choreography by Mark Myars in the style of the Great White Way’s most famous choreographers to illustrate how these innovative stylistic changes make Broadway dance more dynamic than ever.

Background

From Agnes de Mille to Bob Fosse, iconic choreography has made stars of dancers and forged the path of Broadway musical theatre. DANCIN’ BROADWAY is a multi-media extravaganza featuring leading Broadway dancers and vocalists with a live band performing in the styles of Broadway’s most sensational show-off dances of the past century. Celebrity choreographers, leading Broadway dancers and “gypsies” make video appearances to share fun and inspiring backstage stories and clips of their favorite blockbuster dance performances. Join us for a dazzling romp through Broadway musicals and the great dance numbers that made musical theatre history!
