New Jersey Ballet, voted the state’s favorite dance company, will open its season on Saturday, November 14, at MPAC in Morristown. The program, entitled Warriors of the Ballet, will include revivals of Nai Ni Chen’s The Three Riddles of Turandot. Based on the famous opera, the story revolves around a beautiful princess who can only wed with one man answers three seemingly impossible riddles. Unsuccessful suitors forfeit their lives. Also on the program, William Dollar’s riveting ballet, Combat, tells the tale of a clash between European warriors and a brave Saracen maiden. The ballet company will return in December for a 14-performance run of its acclaimed Nutcracker featuring guest artists The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
Spring performances include a revival of Ballet at the Opera, Don Quixote, plus Sunday matinees of Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.
