MPAC Updates
September 14, 2020

An Update from Allison Larena, President and CEO: September 14, 2020

Dear Friends,

In response to Governor Murphy’s recent Executive Order, we are thrilled to be able to reopen the theater doors to host events up to 150 patrons. While this is an encouraging first step toward normalcy, there is still a long, difficult road ahead before performing arts centers like MPAC can return to regular operations and we thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding as we welcome you back to MPAC.

Your comfort and safety is our highest priority. Our team has worked extensively this summer to ensure that any and all Executive Order reopening requirements are met, and in some cases exceeded, making MPAC a safe and healthy place to enjoy an event. Click here to learn more about our mitigation efforts.

Here are some things to expect:

  • Face coverings will be required to enter the building and must remain on throughout the event.
  • Temperature checks upon entering the building.
  • Hand sanitizing stations in the lobbies.
  • Upgraded ventilation system.
  • Touchless bathroom fixtures.
  • A new way of ordering concession items. Face coverings may be removed briefly to consume concessions.
  • The Starlight Room is temporarily closed.

When ordering tickets, you will be asked to purchase tickets in a specific seating section, but we will be assigning your seat locations in order to properly social distance patrons six feet apart. We will seat you and the members of your party together; and your party will be at least six feet from the next. We anticipate the first row will be Row D.  ADA seating will be available.

Click here to see our fall lineup.

We continue to face many financial challenges from our closure these past six months, as well as being restricted to operate on a limited basis in the immediate future.  We thank you for your cooperation as we restart indoor live performances. We are here to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you so much for your support over the past several months. Additional support of our Recovery Fund on our GoFundMe Campaign has been vital to allow us to continue to operate. You are all truly shining stars and we look forward to seeing you soon when you are ready to return to MPAC.

Thank you and stay well.

Sincerely,

Allison Larena
President & CEO, MPAC
