The Mayo Performing Arts Company, MPAC’s teen performing group, performed the National Anthem prior to the Sunday, January 14, New York Knicks-New Orleans Pelicans game at Madison Square Garden. Watch the performance here:
Led by Education Director Cathy Roy, the group, which consists of about two dozen teens ages 12-18, regular performs at no charge at local events, for local non-profit fundraisers, at senior centers and nursing homes. Children are selected by audition and pay no fees for their participation. The goal of this group is to learn to use their talent to give back to the community rather than focus the spotlight on themselves.
