Robert Irvine Live!

This show has passed

Food Network star Robert Irvine brings his brand of no-nonsense cooking to MPAC in this multi-media and multi-sensory event featuring cooking challenges, Q&A and an ample heaping of audience participation! Robert has no knowledge of the culinary challenges he is about to receive, and he'll need your help to conquer them. No recipes. No script. No holds barred. It's like nothing you've ever seen on stage before. You choose the challenges. He does the impossible.

Limited VIP Pre-Show Experience includes Golden Circle ticket, access to a private cooking seminar, food tasting, and meet and greet opportunity with Chef Irvine.

Background

With over twenty-five years in the culinary profession, Chef Robert Irvine has cooked his way through Europe, the Far East, the Caribbean and the Americas, in hotels and on the high seas. Irvine brings his experience to The Food Network as host of Restaurant: Impossible and has been previously seen on Dinner: Impossible, Worst Cooks in America, and The Next Iron Chef.

In its second season, Restaurant: Impossible continues its successful run as one of the networks most popular shows where Robert attempts to save America’s most desperate restaurants from impending failure in just two days with only $10,000.  Over the course of the extreme mission Robert assesses all of the restaurants facets and then overhauls their weakest spots with updates to menus, retraining staff and implementing aesthetic changes with the help of his design team before hitting the streets to tell the community about the improved restaurant.

…since the July 6th season two premiere of Restaurant Impossible the series has been viewed by 20.4 million viewers.

….Restaurant: Impossible on August 24th, was The Food Network’s highest-rated Wednesday night slot ever with over 2.8 million viewers.

A native of England, Robert joined the British Royal Navy at the age of 15 and his skills in the kitchen soon came to the attention of his superiors. As part of his service for the Royal Navy, Robert was selected to work on board the Royal Yacht Britannia where the Royal Family and their entourages regularly dined. During his time training U.S. Navy chefs as part of a guest chef program, Robert worked in the White House kitchens and his creations were served to high-ranking government officials. During his career, he has also had the opportunity to serve 6,000 servicemen and women on a U.S. aircraft carrier and plan the menu for a celebrity-studded after-party at the Academy Awards.  Robert is the author of two cookbooks, “Mission: Cook!” (Harper Collins, 2007) and “Impossible to Easy” (Harper Collins, 2010).

What is Robert Irvine LIVE?
While it might seem easy to explain what happens in a show for those who have never experienced it, Robert Irvine LIVE is NOT that kind of show. Much like Robert’s TV shows Dinner: Impossible and Restaurant: Impossible, Robert walks into the theater with no knowledge of what he is about to face.
Instead of explaining what the show IS, it is much easier to tell you what the show IS NOT.

Robert Irvine LIVE IS NOT:
A COOKING DEMO
Let’s be clear: Robert Irvine LIVE is not a cooking demo. Is there cooking? Yes, but don’t expect to sit back and watch Robert cook dishes for two hours. This is a theatrical event. We are taking cooking places it’s never gone before, with physical challenges, culinary challenges and more. Cooking is merely the vehicle for a crazy and entertaining ride.

A SCRIPTED EVENT
Just like when Robert walks into a restaurant on Restaurant: Impossible, Robert has no idea the challenges he will face when he steps on stage. The producers of the show develop the challenges prior to the event and reveal nothing to Robert in advance. While there are some moments that are designed to keep the show running (and not last until the wee hours of the morning), the vast majority of challenges are unknown to Robert until he receives them on stage. This means that every performance is a new and unique experience.

A “SIT DOWN FOR THE ENTIRE SHOW” PERFORMANCE
Don’t expect to come to this show and just sit and watch. This is an opportunity to let loose and have a good time! Expect to stand, yell, dance (yes, dance!) and become part of the action on stage. Every challenge Robert receives will require assistance, and members of the audience serve as his sous chefs and assistants. Whether you are the worst cook in America or a Master Chef, be ready for Robert to call on you to help him complete his challenges.

LIKE ANYTHING YOU HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED
Cooking demos can be great, but they can also be incredibly boring. With Robert Irvine LIVE, we are taking the idea of a cooking show into a completely new realm. We are doing things on stage that have never been done before, where only the live audience on that night will experience them. This is the opportunity to witness something totally new that has never been done before. Get ready to experience the impossible. Get ready to experience Robert Irvine LIVE!
