Ellis Island served as headquarters for immigrants coming to America from 1892 to 1954.  It is estimated that before closing, 12 million people came through on their way to a new life in America. Our 55-minute musical captures the essence of the immigrant journey and hardships they encountered on their way into the US.

Six professional actors in period clothing weave this intriguing tale with words and songs of traveling into the USA. They were filled with high hopes and excitement to begin new lives, only to encounter obstacles along the way.

A wonderful addition to existing school curriculum, Ellis Island artfully tells the story of how our ancestors began to call America their home. Today, many US citizens are descendants of those same immigrants. Audiences will be held in rapt attention as they hear the story unfold.
