Background

Legends in Concert, the longest-running and most successful show in Las Vegas, will feature the ultimate tribute to Elvis at the Mayo Performing Arts Center on February 3, 2018.

The multi-media live musical is produced by On Stage Touring’s Legends in Concert division.  The production is a journey across Elvis’ life featuring the world’s greatest tribute artists each representing Elvis during different stages of his career. Bill Cherry, Ted Torres and Pat Dunn are the incredible tribute artists featured as each era of Elvis, and joined by a live band, back-up singers and dancers, along with Carol Maccri as Ann-Margret.

Bill Cherry as Elvis Presley

What separates the cream of the crop from all those who attempt to pay homage to the King? Come see Bill Cherry, who marvelously performs as Elvis for Legends and you will find out first hand. Having grown up listening to the King, Elvis was Bill’s first inspiration. As a child, Bill would avidly watch all of Elvis’s movies and listen to his records. And when he wasn’t listening to Elvis, or the other greats of the time—like the Beatles or Johnny Cash—Bill was honing his own vocal skills. Singing along with his father, Bill’s home grown musical talent has now taken him far and wide.

Paying homage to the king since 1989, Bill is absolutely one of the best Elvis tribute artists in the business. For Bill it’s not enough to sing, act and dance like the King, he even drives the same car as him—a Stutz Blackhawk (one of which can be seen at Graceland). His career has led him to perform with many of the same bands who backed Elvis, like the Jordaniers, the Sweet Inspirations, DJ Fontana, and members of J. D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet.

He has received many awards and accolades for his spot-on renditions. Prior to winning in Memphis, Bill took first place at the 2009 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Preliminaries in Tupelo, Mississippi. This back-to-back win proved historic as it was the first time any Elvis Tribute Artist won the title of Ultimate at both the birthplace and the hometown of Elvis Presley in the same year. He’s been honored by Time Magazine, as one of the top Elvis Tribute artist, and has also won The Heart of the King award in Las Vegas at the Hilton where Elvis performed for several years. While Bill never met the King, he’s doing fabulous work of maintaining his legacy, and impressing audiences at every one of his performances.

Ted Torres as Elvis Presley

Ted Torres is a multi-talented actor, singer, songwriter, and musician. His stage acting experience includes shows like: “Biloxi Blues”, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Death Of A Salesman” just to name a few. His portrayal of The King of Rock N’ Roll is one the top tributes in the world! He acquired this title in Memphis Tennessee on Aug. 2011 and Aug. 2012 at the Ultimate Elvis Competition organized by Elvis Presley Enterprises.

Some of his accolades include:

* 2014 The “Heart of the King” Award on Elvis’ stage at the former Las Vegas Hilton now Westgate Resort!

* 2014 Vocalist for the Soundtrack of the Elvis based independent short film “NOBODY”

* 2012 The “Spirit Of Elvis” Award from Elvis Presley Enterprises

* “Best Elvis Vocals” in 2011 at the Las Vegas Hilton’s “Heart of the King”

Ted is a seasoned actor, vocalist and skilled musician. Through his portrayal of Elvis on stage, He will bring back all the memories of the King. His goal is to always deliver to the fans through all his body of work. And to keep doing what he loves. And hopefully, make new fans along the way through his acting and musical work.

Pat Dunn as Elvis Presley

Hailing from Manhattan in NYC, Pat is no stranger to the stage. He performed in his first NYC production at age twelve and since has had the honor of performing in different musical productions around the globe. While going on to earn a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the prestigious Hartt School of Music.

Growing up an avid Elvis fan at a young age, Pat unknowingly studied and absorbed Elvis records and performance footage to allow him to quickly work his way up within the industry as one of the most authentic ‘Elvis Tributes’ to be performed. An internationally recognized and award-winning Tribute Artist Pat represented the Foxwoods Resort Casino production of ‘Legends in Concert’ in ‘The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist’ competition held by ‘Elvis Presley Enterprises’ in Memphis, TN. Ending with a top 5 finish in his first year of participating! Using authentic costumes, and movements, while matching Elvis’ vocal power and nuance, even wearing jewelry pieces taken from the exact molds used for ‘The King’ himself!

Pat was brought to see his first production of ‘Legends in Concert’ at age ten, by his parents during their annual vacation, at the Myrtle Beach location. After that, he was the only pre-teen in town to have ‘Blues Brothers’, Tom Jones, and Elvis Presley cassette tapes in his Walkman. Pat considers performing with ‘Legends in Concert’ a huge honor and a responsibility to keep the music and name of Elvis Presley alive and well…So, maybe that next ten year old brought to the show will walk out and download some ‘new’ music!
