Setting the stage Capital Campaign

The Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts is in the midst of a $7 million “Setting the Stage” capital campaign to fund the renovation and expansion of the Theatre’s current arts facility.

When completed, the Theatre will be able to present more than 200 performances each season and operate 12 months per year. The improved and expanded complex, renamed The Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts will serve as the region’s leading performing arts center. To date over $6.2 million of the $7 million goal has been met.

The expansion project includes a new stage house and features a 1270 seat concert hall, a fly rail system for scenery changes, orchestra pit and air conditioning.  The building annex - The Pine Street Center will house new administrative offices, dressing rooms, loading bays, production facilities and a multi-purpose room for classes, lectures, smaller performances and receptions.

The new Stage House was completed in September 2007. Construction on the remaining portion of the building continues.

There are a variety of ways to support the Setting the Stage Capital Campaign. Contribution options include three to five year pledges, cash gifts and gifts of stock or place your name on a seat, a paver, or larger naming opportunity to show your support of the arts. 

  • Call to schedule a tour of the facility to see, firsthand, the construction in progress.
  • E-mail or call to set up a meeting for a one-on-one overview of the campaign.
  • Volunteer to host a community reception and invite your friends and neighbors to learn more about our goals and needs.

Subscription orders are currently being taken.

There are two main subscription plans

A “Create Your Own Subscription” involves purchasing tickets to four or more performances at once.

The “Family Subscription” involves ticket purchases amongst Sunday Kids Club (shows for children 10 and under), Garden State Spotlight performances and events from the Wonder Series category.
